The good news is that we felt an immediate and marked return of confidence in the economy the Monday following the Election. Gordon was hanging on to office by his finger nails, nobody knew whom exactly would win the race to head a coalition or which parties it would be, BUT... the collective business consciousness heaved a sigh of relief and started recruiting both temporary and permanent office support staff. Companies that had made redundancies 12-18 months ago started looking forward in a positive way. We have seen that trend continue since, slowing just a little this week as we head into the summer lull, with so many taking holdays during the school holiday period.
I was proud , and amused, to be called a goddess by the Mail on Sunday, thanks to winning the Everywoman Award at the Dorchester last December. It was n't difficult, you just let your FD steal half a million to a million pounds, we believe by diverting cheques from clients, go in to Receivership and start again. Thank goodness for such a great team of colleagues and very special and supportive family and friends.
