- Check spelling, grammar and punctuation. Bad spelling and grammar is one of the most popular reasons for rejecting cvs.
- Use bold, italics or underlining to help headings stand out.
- If you are a graphics expert, your cv should reflect this
- Ensure layout, format of dates and headings are consistent.
- Keep the CV to 2 pages.
- Education can go before or after career history – if it is not relevant to your current abilities leave it to the end. It is ok to say 5 GCSE’s including Maths (B) and English (C) to save space.
- Explain any gaps between jobs.
