CVs

  1. Check spelling, grammar and punctuation.  Bad spelling and grammar is one of the most popular reasons for rejecting cvs.
  2. Use bold, italics or underlining to help headings stand out.
  3. If you are a graphics expert, your cv should reflect this
  4. Ensure layout, format of dates and headings are consistent.
  5. Keep the CV to 2 pages.
  6. Education can go before or after career history – if it is not relevant to your current abilities leave it to the end.  It is ok to say 5 GCSE’s including Maths (B) and English (C) to save space.
  7. Explain any gaps between jobs.
