We are told you can feel the energy and hear the laughter, as you come up the stairs to our office, so be warned! I am fortunate enough to work with a wonderful team of highly skilled and successful consultants, the top 5% in our sector! (We benchmark ourselves against our competitors so I can validate this). This has been achieved by attracting and then retaining the very best consultants, and letting them be themselves, not clones or automatons working to a rigid structure – but allowing them to use their flair and individuality.
We also say that we don't have a staff turnover, we have elastic! At least 4 of those currently working with us have worked with us previously, maybe as much as 20 years ago, and have been persuaded to come back. We aim to give our consultants all the support we can. We anticipate somebody should be 25-50% more successful with us than their previous consultancy. There is the benefit of 2 resourcers to read through CVs and also search the relevant job board databases for the very specific mix of skills and experience needed for the roles that are current that day. The resourcers aren't rookies in their first recruitment role, as is normally the case, but extremely experienced, successful consultants who have been with us some years but may now have different family commitments or live out of London so they are happy work from home, There is also a series of marketing fliers that seem to amuse our clients (we hope they are laughing with us, not at!) and a number of client events throughout the year where we aim to inform, entertain and delight. The usual comment is' How do you come up with such different ideas!'
