As you know, I have started my current position back in December 2008 and there is still a lot to learn about this great company. I know that you are to have lunch this week with HR and I don’t recall having expressed my sincerest gratitude for having found me this job.
2008 was the toughest year for me financially as I felt I had hit a brick wall and with the financial crisis coinciding, that didn’t help things at all. When I signed up with Secretaries Plus, I felt that I was signing up with yet another agency that would, maybe if I was lucky enough, contact me perhaps every two weeks and propose, yet another, temporary assignment, which would keep me afloat for, yet another, 2 or 3 weeks until the next assignment…
So imagine my surprise when you got back to me rather swiftly with this job proposal and before I knew it, I was invited to the first interview and then the second and final one.
My current salary of £26,000 will not make me a millionaire but I work for two of the kindest and down-to-earth human beings I have ever worked for and I don’t want to trade my position for twice the salary and work for someone who is out of touch with people.
I notice the smallest gestures from John (repeating office procedures – with a smile) and Neil (going to the kitchen to find me to say goodbye before taking off for the weekend or even offering me a cup of tea!) and they mean a lot.
So this is to say – thank you. You helped me achieve something which I thought was nearly impossible to attain, a permanent job in London, let alone work with great people, and you helped me get off to a great start
